Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) social movements are social movements that advocate for the equalized acceptance of LGBT people in society. In these movements, LGBT people and their allies have a long history of campaigning for what is now generally called LGBT rights, sometimes also called gay rights or gay and lesbian rights (wikipedia, 2015).
The first gay rights movement took place in Germany before World War II on Hirschfeld Magnus. It was then completely crushed by the Adolf Hitler’s Nazi movement. In the years after the end of the Second World War, there were some gay rights movement in the United States. In this period of time, Alfred Kinsey published sexual behavior in the human male. In his book, he said that about 10% of the total population is gay, which directly questioned the prevailing idea at that time. Before this book was published, homosexuality never came up as an issue of social discussion. However, after that, the topic of homosexuality began to appear in some of the publications, such as Time Magazine, Life magazine, etc. Although gay issues had entered the mainstream of the discussion, there was little change in social consciousness or laws about this until the 60's of 20th century. "Sexual Revolution" in 60’s of 20th century release a lot of changes in the social field, including homosexual. These factors, along with the large number of immigrants to the city after the Second World War, began to form in the center of the gay community.

Currently, there are 10 countries in the world allow gay marriages: Holland, Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland and Argentina as well as 15 countries admit gay relationship. Homosexuality is now accepted by most people and there has been few discriminatory against homosexuality in most developed countries. However, we still have a long way to go to let people in the whole world have agreement on homosexuality and improve the national law about homosexuality in different countries.
